You've got to love the Internet sometimes...

Poor rice harvests means there's MAY soon to be a rice shortage, causing some big box chains to limit your purchases of 20lb bags of rice.
This has translated to 'OmG!111 There'S A FOOd ShORtaGe!!11 ThEy'Re RaTionINg Food11!1!!!!'

And 'OMg!111 ThaT'S WhY PrIces are Going Up!11"

Umm.. no.

Rising fuel prices means that the cost to transport that same food stuffs from one place to another has gone up, translating into a higher cost to the consumer when they purchase the food stuffs.

Let's recap- Rising fuel prices=rising transport costs= rising food prices.

NOT rising food prices=food shortages/rationing by all grocery stores.

Can you say unnecessary paranoia?

There now, I knew you could!
