Long, Weekend Update Post.. photo heavy.
Ok, so here's the awaited Microfestivus update...
First, Friday another Dyehard list member came to visit.
Susan was visiting her sister at Smith Mountain Lake and came into town on Friday afternoon to play with my dyes and foiling.

I had some dyes she hadn't used yet, so we threw some fabric from the bolt she brought with her into a few dye batches. Ok, so we did six jars of dye.

Aries decided he wanted in on the action as well.}:) Both the Boys took right to Susan, as did Dante.

I'd never done fabric foiling before, neither had she, so that was quite fun. The piece she did turned out beautifully and she even left the rest of the foiling kit for me!
To which end, I created this...

Needless to say, we had a blast. Went to The Cellar for dinner, talked about practically everything and just, in general, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Sat was the Microfestivus event..
I'd never poured beer on tap before, so it took a good 3-4 glasses to really get a good technique down as far as getting a small head on a glass for a few of the beers. They had Redhook Black and Tan with RedHook Original Ale and RedHook BlackHook Nitro, which I became quite adept at making(it's complicated to make, so naturally I was good at it) and eventually was the only one who was making them during my shift, lol.
Because our 'booth' got slammed, I ended up staying for half of the next shift (ours ended at 4pm, but I stayed until 530pm). Aidan, the distributor really seemed to appreciate that, as he kept having me personally get beer for his associates rather than the other volunteers.
By the end of my volunteering, I was a master at pouring beer. It was actually quite fun, and I even had a few people specifically come back and ask *me* to pour their beer for them.
At the end, we had 5 people behind the tables, and I called it quits. (Two were... not really good at it and rather annoying to me, the other two worked out a system where one marked bands and me and the other guy poured the beer, but the other two kept messing that up. Grr. Eventually they gave up and just started doing it among themselves and letting the other two do their own thing. If it'd been the 2nd pair to come to volunteer only and the 1st pair had left, I'd probably have stayed for the entire event.)

Our volunteer badges.

Mark at the St Obnoxious booth, where he bought one Tshirt and I got a sticker}:P Lots of neat shirts there.

Us in front of our 'booth'. Yes, we were at the Bud truck}:P

Some of the crowds- they estimate that well over 4,000 people showed up and they were expecting only 3,200. There was a live band playing, no clue who.

Another view of the crowds.

Mark's glass of Widmer Hefeweizen (American style German Wheat Beer). He really liked it.

Waiting to get a glass of Hefeweizen... that woman there? That's the 1st couple I was refering to. The one behind me is the 2nd couple who set up the good system.

Pour Beer! }:P
I was beat by the time we got homer. But we got free beer(well Mark did, ) and free Tshirts out of it. And we plan to do it again next year.
