( I picked up a copy of their cookbook as well)
Wasn't *too* busy, but busy enough that Mark was uncomfortable, seems he kept getting crowded. Me, I was too busy looking at the colors, the fabrics, the techniques, taking photos, etc, to worry about being in a small crowd.
We got to vote on 'Best of Show' and they'll announce the winner tomoorow, but we more than likely won't go back for tomorrow, especially since we didn't enter the raffle and say everything we wanted to today, so there's really no point.
On to the photos!

First, after admiring the numerous booths along the outer edge, we came to the wearable arts. I fell in love with this piece and one other-

(Black&White with a Touch of Pink, by Martha Akers)
This was a gorgeous long vest piece in an Oriental pattern, with a small bag, done in a shibori discharge(bleached). I was excited to see it, and exclaimed, Look! It's Shibori! to Mark. He wasn't as impressed. Heh.
Needless to say, this is the one I voted for.

Mark claims that the creature on the front of the bag, looks like a bat. I say it looks like a pissed off fat rabbit.

I also really liked this piece on the end-

The piece in the upper corner, above the wearables was called, "Boro ~~Sunrise by Bonnie Venable", her interpertation of pre WWII Japanese Boro fabric, unfortunately I didn't get a better photo, but it was quite beautiful.

( Dragonfliies in Purple & Green by Martha Akers)
She used stamps and Lumiere paints on this piece. It was stunning.

Now for the quilts.....

2,205 individual Yo-Yos?!? Wow!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a detail shot, but this quilt was completely hand sewn and hand embroidered. It was beautiful.

(Mark liked this one, it was on display in one of the booths. He said he particularly liked how they used fabrics printed with different foods to make them look like they are canned.)

Each triangle on the pinwheels is 3-d on this one. "Black & White by Peggy Ramsey, quilted by Marie Sasaninejad"

This is the one Mark voted for-

There were over 140+ quilts and such on display. Was well worth seeing.
There is another quilt show in october as well, that Mark has agreed to go to with me.}:P

Need to look them up and see what kinds of entries they are looking for.
