As per
aithlyn 's post-
"Eight years ago, the Aquarian Tabernacle Church requested the VA to add the pentacle to its list of religious symbols "approved" to be engraved on a vet's headstone. The VA has finally agreed to do so, with the following condition: a request must be made to them by January 31, 2006. The form can be obtained by phone at 1-800-455-7143 or on the VA website as a PDF. If you need help filling out the form, call Peter Pathfinder Davis at 360-793-1945.
It is also imperative that the application go through the ATC, since they are the filers of the application to have the pentacle added, and the final obstacle to having it approved is the request of a specific family to have it on their vet's headstone. The VA has given ATC notice if they (the VA) do not receive such a request, they will deem there is no need to approve the pentacle, and will deny the approval application with prejudice. This means that no pagan veteran will ever have the pentacle on his/her headstone.
If you know of a family to whom this would be of interest, please pass it on right away, as the VA only gave 30 days for the application deadline. They made their decision on January 2, 2006.
I'd seen that this was being approved a few weeks ago, via Military.com, but had forgotten.
